Update 0.1.73 changes several scams, removes Password Recovery, and adds speech, sign-in, caller-management, and crash fixes. This page summarizes the developer's “Fixes and Scam Upgrades” announcement. Use it when an older walkthrough no longer matches the app or voice settings in your game.
The announcement timestamp is October 17, 2026 in UTC; Steam can display October 16 in another time zone. The version number is the useful reference when comparing changes. These notes establish the changed behavior, not an independently measured performance improvement on every PC.
Revised scams: what finishes the task now
| Task | What changed in 0.1.73 | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Bitcoin and Meme Coin | Live investment rounds with rising values and a randomly timed crash | Use Cash out to collect the round's remaining value; a displayed balance is not already secured. |
| Meme Coin | The purchase confirmation code and separate Crash the coin button are gone | Follow the new Cash out flow rather than the old button sequence. |
| Lottery Prize | The caller emails a ticket; a confirmation code precedes scratching | Scratch all three numbers to reveal and pay the ticket. |
| Police Impersonation | The payout requires the caller's fine-payment confirmation number | Enter that value in the task's own app. |
| Investment Scam | The invoice number is required and payout follows the agreed investment | Complete the invoice step rather than counting dialogue agreement as payment. |
| Password Recovery | Removed from the app store and scam selection | Its absence is expected on the updated build. |
Bitcoin and Meme Coin rounds can pay up to $700. Reassuring the caller can delay withdrawal, but cannot stop the market crash. The notes allow cashing out during a crash for the remaining value; getting caught, losing the caller, or waiting too long can forfeit the unpaid round.
Lottery Prize has listed results of $0, $200, $500, or $1,000, with a 5% jackpot chance. Those are fictional game rewards, not a comparison of earnings per minute. There is no complete method-ranking or universal best earning route established here. See earning more in-game money and why Password Recovery is missing.
Microphone and recognition changes
Automatic microphone leveling is on by default. Turn it off in General settings if you want to set the phone microphone level yourself, within the documented 50%–200% range.
The update adds selectable Moonshine English recognition for the compatibility path, including older Windows processors without AVX. Whisper returns for older CPUs that have AVX but lack AVX2. Recognition and caller voices on Windows ARM and Snapdragon are experimental.
When the main menu says recognition is unavailable, typed dialogue remains an option. The microphone guide separates capture, recognition, and caller audio so you can describe the failure before adjusting settings.
Qwen3 has hardware and startup limits
Qwen3 now requires a compatible GPU and switches off if speech takes more than seven seconds to start. It remains unavailable on Windows ARM and Snapdragon PCs. A completed download does not establish compatibility with those startup requirements.
The earlier Hotfix 3 threshold was five seconds; 0.1.73 specifies seven. Treat either value as a startup rule rather than a promised total AI-response time. Read the Qwen3 troubleshooting guide when a download message and a slow-start message look similar.
Callers, voice import, and sign-in
The update fixes duplicate Daily Callers entries, improves multiplayer list changes, and makes each player work through the available caller pool before repeats where possible. A missing selection and a caller not repeating are different observations; use the Daily Callers checks.
A Windows crash importing WAV or MP3 recordings in Character Creator is fixed. That names the import formats without establishing a universal sample rate or recording duration. The custom voice guide keeps those limits clear.
If normal in-game Steam sign-in fails, the update provides a browser sign-in route and a backup address. Bug reports can be submitted while game sign-in is unavailable. Follow the in-game message instead of treating a sign-in failure as proof that the conversation service is down.
Lobby and boss-review reliability
A version-mismatch screen now has clearer update instructions and a Back button. Boss-review recordings gain a Steam transfer fallback, and review reliability and highlight selection are improved. These changes do not establish a new lobby cap or a scoring formula.
The update also labels Mac, Linux, CrossOver, Wine, and Proton as currently unsupported. Experimental Windows ARM speech support does not change that platform warning. For a continuing issue, include the installed version and the exact error rather than assuming an old tutorial describes the current client.
